Tonight I have a special treat for my loyal readers. Yes, all three of you!
For various reasons, I find My Humps by Black Eyed Peas extremely entertaining. Largely because of the line, “what you gonna do with all that breasts, all that breasts up in that shirt.” It’s just so awesomely grammatically incorrect! (According to lyrics sites on the internets he really says “all that breast” but that’s just a vicious lie).
As soon as I heard My Humps, I started thinking that it would go well with the Felix da Housecat remix of Mylo’s Drop The Pressure. So I made a mashup of them! And you should download it!
[Go get version 2 instead. It's so much better.]
Let me know what you think, unless you think it sucks, in which case, keep your opinions to yourself. Fuckhead. (I’m so loving and friendly tonight!) Personally, I think the middle of the song is the strongest, with the beginning and end being a little weak. But seriously, I do want feedback.
One last thing: I need to plug Audacity, which is the amazing (free!) multitrack sound editor without which this little project would not have been possible. Audacity is amazing. And I hope you think that Felix Drops The Humps is amazing too.

- Wal-Mart Dance Party!
What happens when you take a gang of 25 punks, sceneagers and freaks to Wal-Mart for a dance party on the busiest shopping weekend of the year?

I’m in one of my phases again where I obsess over a single song and loop it (and loop it and loop it and…). This time it’s Blood Sugar by Pendulum and it’s blowing. my. mind. This is the most incredible sonic recreation of the end of the world that I’ve heard in ages.
Ok, fuck it, I lied. It’s drum and bass. What you gonna do?
Unfortunately, the only version I can find at the moment is a less than three minute cut from Pendulum’s Essential Mix. Its shortness could (just maybe) contribute to my listening to the track nineteen, er, twenty times so far today. The one advantage to this version is that it’s got a great spoken intro over it (quoted in the above paragraph), though can someone tell me why it bothers me so much that they bleeped out the fuck word? I mean, come on, this is on the BBC! You’re allowed to say fuck!
Anyway, rather than just torture you with my ramblings, here’s the track. Grab it and prepare to have your face rocked off!

Oh, and did I mention that there’s new Underworld up at UnderworldLive? Because there is. Free stuff in the member’s section and new stuff for download in the store as well with a message from Rick and Karl on the forum. Woo!
Also? Twenty-one.
Due to popular demand the download is back for at least a week. Enjoy!

Tonight we (Courtney, Hilary “Duff,” and I) saw Nickel Creek and they were amazing. As always. They covered Toxic (yes, by Britney) and it was genius. So much talent in that group.
The Ditty Bops were with them, and they were super fun. One of the girls had pink hair and it was hott. And? They have a bikini bicycle calendar. SO AWESOME.
Tomorrow is a day for movies and liquid refreshment. Ohhh yes.

Mr. and Mrs. Christmas - Bang The Poll. From what I’ve gathered, it seems to be a stealth release by Underworld. And a fucking brilliant one at that. I mean, seriously. How sick is that bassline? Plus, the melody that jumps in a little before 3:45 always catches me off guard and makes me grin like an idiot. Heh. Download it. Listen to it on repeat. Try to figure out what the hell Karl is saying through those lovely vocal effects.
This has me even more excited about a new Underworld album. Whenever that happens. The boys are definitely still on top of their game. (Props to the Dirts for the hookup).
Speaking of brilliant music, I got Takk… a week ago, and it’s amazing. Sigur Rós doesn’t disappoint. The album is ridiculously, extravagantly beautiful. Go watch the video for Glósóli (high-quality torrent). It sounds silly, I know, but it totally makes me cry (in a very good way).
I’m also excited because last week ended a month-long streak of second shift at work. I’m now going to be working normal hours and I’ll actually see Bryan for more than two seconds a day. Maybe I’ll even start to have a life again.
But, really? OMFGNEWUNDERWORLD!!11!
