Here’s a rundown of what’s been hitting my ears lately:
- Something Corporate rarities and B-sides, especially Noelle and Caldecott Tunnel, and Walking By. You just might be able to find these and more over at Simply SoCo. And while you’re at it, there are several SoCo tracks over at mp3.com.
- Mike Garrigan. Do yourself a favor and download October (Live) and Gravity Affects Me (Live). Amazing stuff.
- The acoustic version of Every Night’s Another Story by The Early November is wonderful. You can get the plugged version and other tracks over at mp3.com.
- Rufus Wainwright is pretty freaking awesome. You know that Hallelujah song from the Shrek soundtrack? Yeah that’s him. His own music is great too (Hallelujah is a Leonard Cohen cover).
- The other night I picked up Emotional Technology by BT. BT is such an amazing producer. The disc does have some weak moments lyrically, but the music is top-notch throughout. Oh, and go check out the video for Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)… it’s neat, even though BT can’t dance. :-)
- The Postal Service. Ever since the first quirky synth line of The District Sleeps Tonight flooded my ears, I’ve been berating myself for not picking this one up sooner.
- And as always, Epitonic is my friend. I’ve been enjoying songs from Cursive, Jucifer, The Faint, Interpol, The New Pornographers, and Pleasure Forever.
Yowsa, that’s a lot of listening. Many of these I discovered thanks to Adam. I think he tripled the size of the "from adam" playlist in a couple days time. Go forth and download. And there shall be much sonic joy throughout the land.
