Tomorrow I go to Boston to visit Jeremiah! I’m all flying and stuff… it’s gonna be good times. I’m so proud of myself for only packing one bag, and a carryon at that. Though that does involve leaving my Powerbook at home (which is ok, because he told me that he’s afraid of flying… we’re gonna have to work on that). I will have the iPod, so all will still be right with the world. It’s going to be my first time flying alone… should be fun.
Saturday night we’re going to see Blue Man Group. I’m totally psyched about it. Like… woah.
I may or may not post while I’m there. Not that it matters considering the sparsity of my entries lately. ;-)

If you’re ever in a place with lots of candles (like oh, say… Pier 1 [edit: I now officially am mad at Pier 1 because they redirect to an error page for Safari users. Growl. I’m sure Safari supports your "latest technologies."]), don’t smell all of them. Especially not in a short amount of time. It gave me a noseache. And a little bit of a headache.
The "harvest spice" scent that I ended up choosing is nice though.

Caller: I just touched a floppy disk with a my cordless phone antenna… is the disk ok?
Helpdesk person: There’s nothing in the antenna that could harm the disk. It should be fine. Why don’t you try using it and see?
Caller: But will it hurt my computer?
Helpdesk person: No, it won’t. Just use it.
People amaze me. :-D

Tonight was the 3rd annual Nuggetfest, a celebration of the wonderful night of an extra hour of sleep. The tradition came into being as so many have — because of hunger. On one fateful clock-changing night, our heroes Courtney and Michael realized they needed something to eat. Unfortunately, the hour was late and every place they tried was closed. Finally, they gave up and went back to Michael’s. They ate chicken nuggets, and all was well with the world.
The memory of that night is a constant inspiration to us all, so the tradition continues. In honor of Nuggetfest, I would like to tell one of my favorite Nuggetfest stories that isn’t the origin story. Last year, during Nuggetfest, Michael decided that his car needed gas. He, Courtney, Cameron, and I hopped in his car and after the gas station trip, we sat in the driveway talking and listening to music for several hours. There happened to be a full moon that night, and Michael’s car has a sunroof. Now, Courtney was sitting in the rear passenger seat, and I was in front of her. In order to get a better view of the moon through the sunroof, she suddenly leaned forward and twisted her head toward me. Of course, this is what she claims. However, since we all know that everyone wants me, it is obvious that her story is simply a cover for the truth: she was trying to get some Adam action. I can’t say that I’d blame her.
Now, this is the paragraph where I apologize profusely to Ney for considering telling the embarrassing story about her. Oh, wait, I already told it. Oops. Looks like Adam is in trouble.
Tonight’s Nuggetfest was not as eventful as previous years, mostly due to Michael’s absence. The evening was closer to a typical Saturday TV evening plus nuggets. Yay nuggets.

Talked to Bryan this morning, and it looks like he’s going to be coming to visit mid-November. Yay!
Speaking of mid-November, that’s also birthday time for me! Of course, you’re under no pressure to get me anything. As long as you don’t mind dying, that is. ;-)

Here’s a rundown of what’s been hitting my ears lately:
- Something Corporate rarities and B-sides, especially Noelle and Caldecott Tunnel, and Walking By. You just might be able to find these and more over at Simply SoCo. And while you’re at it, there are several SoCo tracks over at mp3.com.
- Mike Garrigan. Do yourself a favor and download October (Live) and Gravity Affects Me (Live). Amazing stuff.
- The acoustic version of Every Night’s Another Story by The Early November is wonderful. You can get the plugged version and other tracks over at mp3.com.
- Rufus Wainwright is pretty freaking awesome. You know that Hallelujah song from the Shrek soundtrack? Yeah that’s him. His own music is great too (Hallelujah is a Leonard Cohen cover).
- The other night I picked up Emotional Technology by BT. BT is such an amazing producer. The disc does have some weak moments lyrically, but the music is top-notch throughout. Oh, and go check out the video for Somnambulist (Simply Being Loved)… it’s neat, even though BT can’t dance. :-)
- The Postal Service. Ever since the first quirky synth line of The District Sleeps Tonight flooded my ears, I’ve been berating myself for not picking this one up sooner.
- And as always, Epitonic is my friend. I’ve been enjoying songs from Cursive, Jucifer, The Faint, Interpol, The New Pornographers, and Pleasure Forever.
Yowsa, that’s a lot of listening. Many of these I discovered thanks to Adam. I think he tripled the size of the "from adam" playlist in a couple days time. Go forth and download. And there shall be much sonic joy throughout the land.

Safari 1.0 (v85.5) fixes the background image problem that had been happening on my site! Originally it would put the background image at the top of the page even though bottom right was specified. I reported the bug and they fixed it! I feel like I’ve made a difference in the world. At least, the OS X web browser world.
Maybe at some point I’ll write some real content instead of just randomly blabbering about Apple news. Maybe.

Lots of great announcements from Apple today. Not the least of which is iTunes for Windows (and Mac). iTunes is by far the best music program I’ve ever used, and now Windows people can get it too. Go download. Check out the music store. It’s great.
It’s cool that music sharing is going to work between PCs and Macs, I’m happy about that.
Ok, I should go back to work. Yay for new Apple stuff!

This has to be one of the coolest things ever. The original Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy radio plays as freely downloadable mp3s. Grab yourself a pan-galactic gargle blaster and enjoy!
