Getting to the Point With All Haste

September 12th, 2003Friends / Travel2 Comments

I’m still around… just been hanging out with Matthew the past couple days. Tomorrow I head for the beach with Ney, Dan, and Lynley. Yeah beach.

I don’t recall giving autumn permission to come yet. I’m starting to get worried, because it’s getting a bit cooler, and I’m not quite ready for summer to be over yet. Thinking back, I’m not sure what happened to summer. It went away so fast. I guess summer is always kind of like that though.

Actually, I suppose that after this weekend, fall is allowed to bring the coolness. But not until post-beach. That is an order.

Glitter Is Sporty

I am no longer toothpasteless (and there was much rejoicing). During my shopping spree today I also bought new handles for the drawers under my bed (see picture below). They look so much nicer than the old <insert adjective pertaining to horribleness> ones (one of which you can see sitting on the floor). Yay for new hardware!

As a disclaimer, the carpet is not really that color. It’s much more of a grey-blue. I was just too lazy to correct it.

There have been a couple recent site redesigns worth mentioning… Toby has a new minimal look for his site that is quite nice (and, amazingly, has less pink ;-). Then just today Matthew launched his new design and it’s quality. Go check it out.

Also, thanks to Matthew’s reminding me of its existence, the worldview gallery has been given a fresh new look (aka updated to the look of the rest of the site). Also, comments work on the worldview pieces once again. Either nobody had tried commenting or nobody bothered to tell me they were broken. Anyway, just wanted to remind you that gallery of art still exists so feel free to browse and leave comments. I wonder if I’ll ever get back into doing that art stuff. Hm…

I was counting today and I have seven lights in my room, not counting the overhead light that I almost never use and the christmas lights under my bedframe. What can I say… I like good lighting. :-)

I’m out of toothpaste, and I keep forgetting to buy some. Yes, you did need to know that.

Kenna rocks my world. Go download his stuff. Electro pop/rock from heaven. Or Virginia Beach at the least.

I think Universal’s decision to lower CD prices is a good thing. Horray for slightly more sensible prices.

Work is finally slowing down. I actually had a chance to get to some of my work orders today rather than just putting out fires. It’s still a bit weird coming home at six-ish because I’m not totally sure what to do with myself. Living off-campus is odd too… I often enjoy the solitude but sometimes miss having all those people around. Oh well… moving on and all that.

My resolution: go to bed before midnight tonight. I’m tired of feeling like a zombie post-nine pm because of lack of sleep. We’ll see how I do on that.

Today I bring you David’s tips for getting the ladies all up ons:

  1. Listen to Dashboard Confessional.
  2. Wear cherry scented underwear.
  3. IMing wins her hands down the easiest way.
  4. Don’t talk about babies (or farts, adds m.yo).
  5. Jeff Buckley is good too.

Apparently he’s quite the expert… or something.

Here’s a couple good links… Calvin and Hobbes and Fight Club - The Connection is a quite entertaining article about the possible links between the worlds of Calvin and Fight Club (thanks to Drew for that one). There’s also this nifty flash-based RPG-esque thingy that I think is pretty neat.

As for me, I got away from work at six freaking o’clock today, w00t for that. I even got to go running. Ohhh yes. Now I need to do some shopping to make up for the extreme lack of decent foodage in this apartment currently.
