Every Minute Counts at the Beach

September 16th, 2003Friends / Travel

The beach trip this past weekend was wonderful fun, but it almost didn’t happen. Before we got very far down the road, there was a phone call to the effect that due to some miscommunication, we weren’t going to have lodging in Nag’s Head. However, after a couple phone calls, new arrangements had been discovered. Instead of staying at Courtney and Lynley’s grandfather’s place, he was going to rent a beach house for the four of us (the fourth being Dan). Not only that, he also paid for dinner at Cheddar’s that night. The trip was basically only possible because of his generosity. Many thanks to him.

That night, we arrived at the beach house and got settled in. Then Saturday, we headed to the beach. The weather was exquisite. We did some beach walking and sand playing, and then absorbed some radiation by the pool. It was all wonderfully relaxing.

Saturday was also Dan’s birthday. Happy one year older day to him!

On Sunday, we did some shopping… I think it’s impossible for me to go on a trip without buying something. Then it was time to head home, with a stop at Cheddar’s along the way (of course).

The weekend was delectably beachalicious in every way. :-)
