Back in Full Swing

November 5th, 2002SiteComments?

If you’re observant, you might have noticed that the "Am I listening to music right now?" feature has been missing the last few days. That’s because when my site got moved from San Francisco to Atlanta, somehow the resolv.conf file (it’s a Linux thing) got messed up and my website couldn’t find other websites (and the music thing relies on being able to get talk to EMU’s web server). I finally got tired of it and posted a message in Eryxama’s support forums and had a reply with the answer in a few hours.

All that to say that you can once again spy on my music listening habits. I know all you adam-stalkers out there are thrilled. Don’t try to hide it.

Freakie Outie

November 4th, 2002Friends / Television9 Comments

This morning I was thinking about how I hadn’t talked to my friend Jonah in a really long time and that I should get in touch with him (this was at like 8:10am or so). Then I check my email around 11am and there’s a message from Jonah. Woah. Even stranger, he sent it at like 8:07.

I’m off now to check out this Pizza Hut Chicago Dish Pizza that is supposed to be so wonderful. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Update: The pizza is just as good as the commericals say. Maybe better. Mmmmmm….

BTW, the title of this entry comes from the Guitarmageddon episode of Home Movies. And it has nothing to do with weird bellybuttons. Just thought I’d clear that up before anybody asked.

Sigur Rós

November 3rd, 2002MusicComments?

Sigur Rós is an amazing band from Iceland. I just got their newest cd, ( ) yestderday. It’s basically instrumental — there are words, but they’re in a made-up language called "Hopelandic." The music is hard to describe… beautiful, dreamy and majestic are words that come to mind. If you want to get an idea of what they sound like, check out the mp3s available for download from eighteen seconds before sunrise.

Lush Music of Euphoria

November 2nd, 2002ArtComments?

Short and to the point: lush music of euphoria is the newest worldview piece. Give it a gander. And I’d love some comments. :-)

Mozilla icon for BeOSThanks to Jeremiah Cohick, there is now a much better icon for Mozilla under BeOS. If you’re using Mozilla under BeOS (hm, come to think of it, I don’t actually know anybody else who is, but oh well :-) check it out at BeBits. Thanks again Jeremiah.

Worldview and Strong Bad

October 31st, 2002Art / Links / MoviesComments?

After a bit of time away from the project, I got inspired tonight to put something together. I now submit to you damaged, the latest piece in my senior worldview project. Feel free to leave some comments about what you think.

Here’s some good news - there’s a new Strong Bad Email! Sure, it’s a bit late, but it’s pretty funny, so we can let it slide, I guess ;-)

Random side note: The Scorpion King is a hilarious movie. At least the little snippets I saw while my roommates were watching it. I don’t know that it’s meant to be nearly as funny as we found it to be. Let me just say that we could smell what The Rock was cooking!

Posting Like a Madman

October 30th, 2002Music

A few days ago (while the site was down), I got the new Andy Hunter cd as an early birthday present. I really like it a lot and will hopefully get a review together before too long (no promises though ;-).
You can download the single Amazing from Nettwerk’s Summer Mix site. Amazing is one of my favorite cuts off the cd. It’s beautiful, quality trance. I love it. :-)

Homestar and Phoenix

October 30th, 2002Geeking Out / LinksComments?

There’s no new Strong Bad Email this week, but there is a new Halloween Cartoon at Homestar Runner. As always, it’s good stuff.

Phoenix 0.4 was released today. Phoenix is a great web browser based on Mozilla but without all the crap. It’s been my main browser in Windows for about a month now and I love it.
Make sure you read the release notes about removing old versions of Phoenix and old profiles.

Downtime

Sorry you had to live without nanovivid.com for so long (like so many people depend on it anyway…). My hosting company, Eryxma encountered some very unfortunate circumstances in the middle of their move to a new data center. It looks like things are back on track now and it’s good to be back.
